Swatch and review: My World Sparkles Lacquers winter polishes!

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have a couple of winter polishes from My World Sparkles Lacquers to share with you! Elizabeth was also kind enough to include one of her Pamper Gems for me to review as well so that will be included in this post. This was my first time trying anything from her brand and I was completely blown away last night when I was swatching! I can't wait to show you so let's jump in! 

Red Velvet is a medium toned red creme with pink flash. Formula wise, Red Velvet is perfection. I applied 2 thin coats easily without any pooling in my cuticles or polish running down my brush. It self leveled nicely between coats and dried to the touch in about 5 minutes. The color stunning and a slightly different way to wear red during the holiday season. I'm feeling some Mrs. Claus nails using Red Velvet as a base since it has the pink flash!

Winter Blues is a cool toned denim blue polish with subtle holo shimmer and may be a new contender for my top favorite blue polishes ever.  While the finish might not be terribly unique, there is something about Winter Blues that made me feel beautiful when I put it on. (and I'm still wearing it now!) The formula and application for Winter Blues was nothing short of perfection. ONE beautiful, buttery coat that self leveled nicely and dried in about 5 minutes. It dried to a satin-y finish but that was easily rendered with a glossy topcoat which brought out more of the sparkle! If you want to try something from My World Sparkles Lacquers and you're not sure which to start with, Winter Blues is one I cannot highly recommend enough!

The last thing I have to show you is the Peppermint Pamper Gem. Firstly, can we just stop to adore that she calls them Pamper Gems? I love it! You can see in my photo how nicely these are packaged - they're wrapped in a piece of saran type wrapping and then again inside a little baggie and tied off with a holo ribbon. The Pamper Gem arrived to me perfectly intact with no breakage or crumbling.  Elizabeth goes the extra mile with labeling, including a label with her contact information AND instructions/ingredients for each Gem.

I used one last night after swatching and since I was just doing my hands, I actually only used half of the Pamper Gem meaning you can easily get two uses out of these beauties! Starting this month, there will be varying scents and designs each month going forward. These Pamper Gems are deep conditioning and the peppermint scent was so relaxing! My hands felt so much more conditioned after I was finished using mine. Its recommended that you don't use these in the bathtub since they contain so many oils that they'll make the tub surface slippery. You can buy these in singles for $1.50 each, doubles for $2.50 (includes 2), or as a trio for $3.75.

Swatch And Review: 'Twas The Night Trio by LynBDesigns!'

'Twas The Night Trio 

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have some new polishes from LynBDesigns to share with you! She's releasing a winter trio called 'Twas The Night with names drawn from the book - 'Twas The Night Before Christmas. Each polish is aptly named for what it represents from the book and is perfect for winter and Christmas! Let's jump right in to the swatches!

New Fallen Snow is a gorgeous white polish filled with iridescent white flakies, flashes of purple micro flakies and scattered holo. It perfectly fits the name she has given it as it looks like a fresh blanket of snow in the morning sun. The formula was a bit thick on this one since its filled with so many flakies, but it applies nicely and self levels well. My swatch shows 3 coats plus B-Shiny topcoat. My macro shot really showcases the delicate and gorgeous nature of this beauty!

Long Winters Nap is a steely blue scattered holo polish with iridescent flakies running throughout. This one is named for the portion of the book where the father says "mama in her kerchief and I in my cap, had just settled down for a long winter's nap." Being a mother of two boys, I am always game for a long nap, especially since the weather has turned colder! The formula is flawless on Long Winter's Nap and my swatch shows 2 coats plus B-Shiny topcoat.

Tarnished With Ashes And Soot is a dusty, deep purple scattered holo with iridescent micro flakies throughout. This color is so unique and the flakies really step it up to the next level! Named for the portion of the book that describes Santa's appearance after coming down the chimney, the finish of this polish definitely reminds me of a recently extinguished fire in the fireplace that's covered in ashes and soot. I have nothing bad to say about the formula, it was smooth and easy to apply. My swatch shows 2 coats plus B-Shiny topcoat.

Swatch and Review: M Polish Winter 2015 Collection!

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have the Winter 2015 collection from M Polish to share with you! I was lucky enough to receive these to swatch through Nail Blogger Roundabout and am so excited to show them to you. They're all so super gorgeous, glitzy polishes that are perfect for the holiday season, so let's jump right in! 

The first one that I swatched from the collection is Frost. Frost is a reflective, antiqued silver foil with holo shimmer throughout. So many finishes in one polish and they all translate to the nail - how amazing is that? One of the best things about the M Polish Winter collection is that although they are primarily stamping polish, they all can be used as regular polish with easy application! I applied Frost here in one easy coat on my index and middle fingers and stamped it over Zoya Verushka. The entire mani is topped with KBShimmer Clearly On Top. Because of the heavy amount of flakies in Frost, it was a little thicker to apply as a full coverage polish but it self leveled easily and the image stamped cleanly using my Creative Shop Stamper and the Cici&Sisi Holiday 2014 plate. 

 The second polish I have to show you is Cranberry. Cranberry is a metallic pink toned purple with scattered holo glitter running throughout! The formula on Cranberry is similar to Frost but without the flakies in it. It applied in one easy coat for a full coverage polish on my index and middle fingers and stamped crisply on my ring and pinkie over Zoya Leah. The entire mani is topcoated with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

 The next one I have to show you is Figgy, a royal blue toned purple metallic with holo shimmer running throughout. The formula and application on Figgy is identical to Cranberry - easy to apply as a full coverage polish with no brush strokes and the polish picked up and transferred easily using my Creative Shop Stamper. I stamped it here over LynBDesigns Fresh Fallen Snow and topped with Clearly On Top.

 Next up is the blue of the collection, Joy! You guys know how I feel about blue...Be still my heart! Joy is a blue metallic with scattered holo glitter running throughout. I feel like a broken record here but they all have easy formulas for both full coverage wear and for stamping! Joy has an identical formula to Cranberry and Figgy and applied easily with no brush strokes as a full coverage polish and stamped beautifully over KBShimmer In Bare Form using my Creative Shop Stamper.

 What would a Christmassy, wintery collection be without a true gold? Next up I have Bells, a yellow toned reflective gold foil with holo shimmer throughout. Can you even? I can't! I stamped it here over Madam Glam Red-Black. This one was a little thicker for application as a full coverage polish due to the heavy amount of flakies but it self leveled and smoothed over with topcoat. Stamping was a breeze with Bells using my Creative Shop Stamper and the Cici&Sisi Holiday 2014 plate.

Lastly is my second favorite (after Frost!) - Carol! Carol is another beautiful reflective foil with holo shimmer but this time in a coppery shade. Just like Bells and Frost, it was a bit on the thicker side for full coverage application but I only needed one coat and it self leveled well. My images picked up cleanly using my CSS. I stamped it here over Zoya Sailor and topped with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Swatch and Review: Living Dead Lacquer Christmas Trio

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have swatches from Living Dead Lacquer to share with you. These 3 polishes make up her Christmas trio and I'm super excited to show them to you. If you haven't heard of Living Dead Lacquer yet, she's a Georgia based indie brand that carries polishes and nail care products like mani bombs and cuticle oils. She makes some gorgeous polishes so let's jump right in to the swatches!

The first polish I swatched is Mistletoe Hung Where You Can See, a traditional leafy green jelly filled with tiny gold micro flakies and scattered holo glitter. This one was very sheer on the first coat but built up nicely in 3 thin coats. The formula was a bit on the thicker side but application was a breeze. My swatch shows 3 thin coats plus topcoat. The second photo is with a matte topcoat applied. Look how those flakies pop! The matte topcoat also brightened the green and almost made it lime-y which was fun because it totally changed the look of the polish.

The next one I swatched in the trio is Sleigh Ride Together With You, an orange toned red filled with tiny gold micro flakies and gold shimmer. I don't typically gravitate towards orange based reds but the squishiness of this jelly made me love it! The formula is similar to Mistletoe, 3 thin coats for opacity. It was a little thick but application was easy. My swatches show 3 coats plus topcoat. The second photo shows it with a matte topcoat applied. The matte topcoat on this one brought out the orange!

The final polish in the trio was the star of the show for me. I want to wear this all December long and put Santas and reindeer and snowflakes and, and, and ALLLL the things over this beauty. This is Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, a white crelly filled to the max of all of the most delicious Christmas glitter. Surprisingly, this one was opaque in just 2 coats which surprised me being that its a white crelly. Formula wise, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town was a bit on the thick side due to the glitter but I had no problems with application and all of the glitter came out easily with no fishing. My swatches show 2 thin coats plus topcoat. The second photo is with matte topcoat. I'm going to need a full size of this gorgeousness!
