Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have a mani that I did several weeks ago with some nail friends that are just as nerdy as me. We decided to get together and do a collab for Harry Potter's birthday on July 31st. We each were randomly given a book to use as our inspiration - and I got book 5, Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix. Keep reading to find out how I did my mani!
This is a little sad for me because I've since cut down my nails again to keep them healthy and get rid of the last tiny bit of peeling I still had. I can't wait to have my pointies back!
This mani is based on the part of the book where Harry is accused of telling lies by Deloris Umbridge about Lord Voldemort's return and the need for practical use in their Defense Against the Dark Arts class. He is sentenced to detention where his punishment is to write lines with an enchanted quill that burns the words he's writing onto the back of his hand. Lord Voldemort ain't got nothin' on the crazy that is Deloris Umbridge. :P

I started with a base of Pretty & Polished Tears of Dionysus which took 3 coats to achieve opacity here. I stamped over it with BP-75 and M Polish Starflower to have the quills in the background. Once that was dry, I went back with white acrylic paint and a small detail brush and wrote the words "I must not tell lies" across my nails. I top coated everything with Seche Vite and that's it! The Harry Potter fandom is ALIVE AND WELL!
Make sure you go check out all the other ladies that participated - there were some awesome manis in there: @sloppyswatches, @color_obsessed30, @applepiemanis, @nailsonbroadway, @rocket.mani, @prettypinkypolish, @indigo.inspiration, @mamineedamani and @samusinlife.
What do you think of this mani? Are you a HP superfan?
