Tonight on the blog I have this nautical dotticure featuring Zoya Sailor and Zoya Rebel. I kind of felt like I needed a break from all of the Valentine-y colors! This was my first time using Rebel and...be still my heart. This polish is to die for!
Here's a shot of what I used:
Pretty simple tools tonight, anyone can recreate this mani! I started with a base of OPI Nail Envy to protect my nails since they've been peeling terribly lately. I moved on to my case colors after that - Sailor on my index, middle, and pinkie, Rebel on my ring and thumb. I used the smaller side of my white dotting tool to create the dots and inverted the colors. Once I was finished, I debated adding something else and after much consideration, decided to add an anchor on my ring finger. I used gold acrylic craft paint and a small detail brush that I cut down to a very thin brush. Both the paint and the brush are from Michael's craft store.
Once the mani was mostly dry, I top coated with my usual, Seche Vite. I am really pleased with how this turned out. It definitely feels out of my normal range of manis and I like that it's simple enough that anyone can do it!
I love nautical nails so much, nice to see a new variation with dots.
ReplyDeleteI like this color combination! I have a hard time with dotticures, I need to practice more on getting the dots symmetrical. This is really nice!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with anchors so I love this. Plus I love blue! Gonna have to pin this as inspiration! 😻
ReplyDeleteI love the blues and gold anchor on this! pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this! I smiled when I saw the first photo. And I agree, Rebel is to die for. I used it for my post today, too. Both of those Zoyas are among my all-time faves!
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute! Your polka dots are great - I really need to invest in a dotting tool!
ReplyDeleteFour of my favorite things in one mani - blue, nautical, polka dots, and an anchor. Superb!!!! I enjoy pairing complementary colors for dotticures and any kind of mani with a design :)
