Born Pretty Store Review - Hawaiian Water Decals

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have a review of some water decals from Born Pretty Store. This is the first of four items I have to review by BPS. Water decals are very easy to use, keep reading after the break and I will tell you how I did this mani using them.

Water Decals from bornprettystore

I started with a sunset gradient using neon polishes from Indigo Bananas and top coated it with Seche Vite. Once everything was dry, I cut out around some of the palm tree and "Aloha" decals and submerged them in room temperature water for about 10-15 seconds. I removed them from the water and used tweezers to carefully slide the decal off of the paper backing and laid it gently on my nail. Water decals are easily manipulated on the nail before they dry, so I was able to slide them around until I was happy with the placement. I used a square of paper towel to very gently dab the excess water off of my nail and allowed it to dry. I top coated again with Seche Vite and that's it! I really liked using these decals from Born Pretty Store - they were very simple and turned my gradient into a super fun, super summery look.

Bestie Twin Nails with @lacquerexpression!

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have some bestie twin nails to share with you. I was lucky enough to be able to do twin nails with the incredibly talented @lacquerexpression and I am so pleased with how they turned out! We were inspired by @kellytattoo over on Instagram for this mani. Take a look at how they turned out!

Let me show you a shot of hers alone, aren't they gorgeous? I want to have a hand pose like her when I grow up! So soft, delicate, and professional!

And here's the solo shot of mine, read past the break to see how I created this look:

I started with two coats of Color Club Harp On It as my base. Once it dried, I used 4 colors (Ballerina Bunny, Markie, Dancing Dolphins, and Max Splash) from the Shinespark Polish 90's Kids neon jellies to make stripes down my nails. I overlapped them some to make them blend together to create a sort of gradient effect. Once that was dry, I stamped over the entire nail with UberChic Beauty plate 1-01 and sealed everything in with Seche Vite fast dry topcoat. I really loved the end result except I never had a chance to get a sun shot of these so that you could see the sparkle of Harp On It under those jellies. Monthly Mani Swap!

Hey y'all! 

Today on the blog I have this month's mani swap to share with you! I love doing mani swaps because it pushes me to try things I might not otherwise try. This month I was paired with a super talented nail artist by the name of @manicallypolishious on Instagram. She recently did a neon green half moon dotticure and I fell in love. I have never tried half moons before so I was pretty nervous. Let me show you how it turned out! 

Our originals are on the left. She recreated my matte flakie mani and totally NAILED it. <3 

Here's the solo shot of mine. She used green iridescent glitter as an embellishment but I didn't have anything like it so I went with a black rose charm. I didn't have any vinyls to use for this mani so I freehanded the half moon and cleaned up the line using acetone and a small brush. 

So I fell so hard for this mani but the rose charm was too big for me to actually wear, so I removed it and matted all of my nails. I actually left this on for almost 3 full days! Can you believe it?

Yes, I was taking pictures of my nails in the car. You know you do it too! #dontjudgeme haha. 

Anyway, now that I've shown you too many pictures of the same mani, I can ask - what do you think of this mani? What's a nail art technique that you'd like to try but never have?
