Swatch and Review: My World Sparkles Lacquer - Black Opal

Hey y'all! I took a little bit of a hiatus for the holidays and because my nails were in pretty rough shape for some reason but I'm back with my first post of 2016 to share a new polish by My World Sparkles Lacquer. This little beauty is called Black Opal and I have a ton of pictures to share with you, so lets get started!

Black Opal is a gorgeous black jelly polish with various sized multichrome flakes running throughout. I'm sure you guys have seen the shattered glass nail art floating around on social media, right? Black Opal reminds me of that but in micro form all contained in one bottle! My swatch shows 2 coats plus topcoat. The application was easy though the formula was a bit on the thicker side. It also self leveled across my nail nicely. I had no issues getting the flakes out and they dispersed across my nail evenly. Overall, a beautiful polish with a great formula.

Being that its a jelly, Black Opal was begging to be mattified so mattify I did! I used OPI Matte Topcoat to showcase all of the beautiful multi chrome micro flakes in Black Opal. It totally transformed the look!

I did a bit of nail art using Black Opal while doing a mani swap with @craftyandpolished, too! I love how it looked in this classy negative space mani! I wound up wearing this for several days because it was so beautiful.

The last thing I have to share with you guys today is January's Pamper Gem from My World Sparkles. This month's hand pampering beauty is a relaxing lavender scent and is garnished with real lavender flower buds. The Pamper Gems from My World Sparkles are made with deep conditioning oils and natural essential oils to provide a lasting scent and moisturizing properties as well. My hands were incredibly soft and moisturized after using it!

Both Black Opal and the lavender Pamper Gem are available right now in the My World Sparkles shop. You can find them both HERE. Black Opal is 5 free and comes in a 1/2 oz (15ml) bottle and is on sale right now for only $5! The lavender Pamper Gem is available in a single pack for $1.50, a double pack for $2.50, and a triple pack for $3.75. I highly recommend trying them out!

Swatch and Review: Hocus Pocus Mini Collection By LynBDesigns

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have some swatches from LynBDesigns to share with you! I'm going to go ahead and spoil the review for you here - these are so good! I usually don't gravitate towards micro glitters but these all have great formulas and are super blingy and beautiful! The collection is inspired by the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus which, admittedly, I've never seen (don't stone me!) but I love these nevertheless!

The first polish in the collection is Sarah, based on the youngest sister. Sarah can best be described as a dense micro glitter in a pink jelly base. The addition of the scattered holo micro glitter in these is what makes them super special, in my opinion! Shown below in 2 coats plus topcoat, these dry to a shiny finish on their own but you guys know I always topcoat! The formula is a bit on the thicker side but I didn't have any issues getting these to spread across my nail in thin coats.

The second polish in the collection is Mary, inspired by the middle Sanderson sister. Okay, so this one was one of my two favorites. Mary is like Thanksgiving in a bottle! She can best be described as a coppery-brown micro glitter with scattered holo micro glitter in a brown jelly base. I felt like Mary was a touch sheerer than Sarah and wound up doing 3 thin coats, shown below. 3 coats will not only bring Mary to opacity, but it will also bring the color on your nail to the same depth as the bottle. Same formula as Sarah - thick but easy to do in thin coats, not chunky and a beautiful glitter displacement.

The third in the collection is Winnie - inspired by the eldest Sanderson sister. Winnie is best described as a green, teal and yellow micro glitter in a green jelly base. Shown below in 3 thin coats plus topcoat, Winnie felt the sheerest to me of all 4 but deepened to a beautiful forrest green with three coats. Her formula felt more on the jelly side than any of the others, which I loved (I'm a sucker for jellies!) and though the formula was a bit on the thick side I had no issues with application. I love the little flashes of yellowy gold and teal in the midst of the green!

The fourth and final polish in the collection is Thackery - my second favorite! Thackery can best be described as a black micro glitter with holo and purple micro glitter mixed in a black jelly base. The holo in Thackery is unreal! Its almost like a night sky on your nails. Thackery was more opaque like Sarah and only required two coats for maximum depth and opacity. The formula on Thackery is identical to the others, thicker - but easy to control and apply in thin coats. He dries to a glossy finish as well but I did two coats plus topcoat here.

So you probably want some details on how to get these pretties, right? They launch as a collection on October 23rd at 7PM EST at www.lynbdesigns.etsy.com. Swatch and Review: Lolita Lacquer Dia De Los Muertos Duo

Dias De Los Muertos Duo

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have some swatches and a review of some products from Lolita Lacquer to share with you today! Mira sent me her Dias De Los Muertos duo to swatch and review. She also sent me two of her Halloween mani bombs to demo and review for you guys. Ready to jump in?

The first polish that I swatched in the duo is Festival - a mixture of matte neon glitters in a black jelly base. This one was very sheer but had a lot of depth as I added each coat. I wound up using 3 coats plus topcoat when I wore it by itself and I could still see my visible nail line so I decided to try to wear it with a black undie. I put down one coat of Zoya Willa as a base and layered two coats of Festival over it. I really loved how it looked over the black undie and would probably wear it that way in the future but I didn't mind how it looked on its own. Visible nail line doesn't bother me as it does some people and I enjoy a polish with some versatility like Festival.

The second polish in the duo that I swatched is Horchata - a gorgeous white polish with green/gold reflect. I REALLY loved this one, it was definitely my favorite out of the two. I wore it here in 3 coats plus topcoat. Doesn't it look just like a pearl? The formula on this one was thicker so it was easy to control. I didn't have any issues with self leveling despite the thicker formula and I was able to apply this in thin coats.

How adorable is this package I got from Lolita Lacquer!?
The entire package I received from Lolita Lacquer was just adorable - she asked me to demo/review the mani bombs pictured above. First impression of these mani bombs is that they were absolutely incredibly cute with the details added - I can't imagine the time it must have taken to add the hand painted details on these! In addition to be darling and perfect for Halloween, they're also really fizzy and moisturizing.

Delush Polish Life's A Beach swatch and review

**nothing to disclose**

Hey y'all!

Today on the blog, I have a swatch and review of 3 polishes from the Delush Polish Life's A Beach collection. This collection launched on May 29th, 2015 and consists of 7 polishes, all neon crellies! I wanted the whole collection because, well, I'm an addict! The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem, amirite!? But alas, I knew that I wouldn't wear all seven shades so I picked my top 3. Keep reading after the break to see some swatches!

Left to right: Babe Watch, Turn Over A New Reef, All Twerk and No Play

Top: All Twerk and No Play, bottom left: Babe Watch, bottom right: Turn Over A New Reef

I started with what I thought was going to be my least favorite out of the 3 I ordered. Not least favorite like I didn't like it but when I swatch polishes, I go in order from the bottom to my very favorite so that I get to wear my most favorite in the end. Anyone else do that? Just me? Oooookay. Moving on.

So I started with All Twerk and No Play. I am going to be 100% honest with you and tell you that I bought this polish for the name alone. I do NOT love orange nail polish, particularly neon orange polish but I had to have it for that adorable name. Well, the joke is on me because I think this one wound up being my favorite. This polish is an orange leaning red crelly polish with almost iridescent pale blue hex glitter in varying sizes throughout. The glitter reminds me of seashells. Its shown below in two easy coats, no white undie, and Seche Vite topcoat. Look how gloriously bright...my camera almost exploded...

All Twerk and No Play

The next one I swatched is Babe Watch, a traditional hot neon pink base with bright blue circle glitters in varying sizes throughout and some large blue holographic circle glitters as well. As with All Twerk, this polish went on smoothly in two thin coats, no white undie, and Seche Vite topcoat.

Babe Watch

The final polish I swatched is Turn Over A New Reef, another super cute name! This polish is a bright blue crelly polish with lime green micro glitter, square glitter, and hex glitter throughout. As with the others, I did two thin coats, no white undie, and Seche Vite topcoat.

Turn Over A New Reef

So what are my thoughts on the polishes that I own from this collection? First of all I will say that neons are always popular, somewhat overdone, and kinda basic, so when I saw this collection, it caught my eye because its different than the rest. I can tell that the maker put lots of thought into planning this collection out from the formula, to the colors, to the names. All 3 polishes that I purchased have a lovely formula with good glitter coverage. I didn't have to do any fishing, these are jam packed with glitter but not thick on the brush. I love that they don't need a white undie, because really, who has time for that extra step?

All in all, I think this is a great collection that stands out in a sea of neons for summer 2015. My only regret is that I didn't buy all 7. And who knows? I may just go back and get the rest!

Did you pick any polishes up from the Life's A Beach collection? What did you think of them? What's your favorite line of neons?

Love,
Pish
