Product Review: Loose Glitter from bornprettystore!

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have a product from bornprettystore to share with you. I had never used loose glitter before and have decided recently to try to push myself outside of the box when I'm selecting things to review from BPS. I actually had a lot of fun using these, though I can't say I was very proficient in using them. Haha. If you'd like to hear how I used these, skip past the break.

Item #: 20278 from bornprettystore.com
This mani was actually done a couple of weeks ago in honor of all the babies who went to heaven too soon. October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month and many of my close friends have lost littles so I did this mani for them.

I started with a dry white base on my pinkie finger and started adding topcoat just in the places I wanted to place the glitter. I used a tiny dotting tool to place each glitter on my nail, adding more topcoat when it started to get too dry. Once they were all placed down in the ribbon shape, I topcoated once more to seal all the glitter in and thats it! If you'd like to see a live tutorial of this mani, click below to head to my Youtube channel:

If you'd like to pick up a container of these multicolored glitters or any other items, you can use my code PPPQ10 at checkout to receive 10% off your regularly priced items.

Mermaid Scale Glitter Placement!

Hey y'all! Today on the blog I have some mermaid scale nails to share with you! I have seen a lot of mermaid nail art lately and decided to do a different take on it. I was 100% inspired by Sloppy Swatches, find her on Instagram and YouTube, she's AMAZING. Keep reading after the break to see how I did this mani!

Macro of Rainbow Honey Laguna Grande

Macro of the mermaid scales

I started off with a base of Rainbow Honey Laguna Grande which I got with my May Mystery Bag. I put it on all of my nails. This was my first time using Laguna Grande and I adore it! I actually didn't care for the other two that I got in that bag so I canceled my subscription after the first month that I got it. Now I have regrets!

Anyway, once that was dry, I started in with some loose glitter from KBShimmer that I got as a freebie when I placed my order back in the spring. Its a mix called Spring Celebration and has a mix of gold, blue, and magenta holographic circle glitters. So I used a clear polish and did my nail in about 3 sections - first placing clear polish and then placing the glitters individually with a dotting tool. I made sure that they all overlapped some so that they looked like scales. I did the same thing on my pinkie. Once the glitters had set, I went over the glitter nails with Shinespark Polish Max Splash which is a bright blue jelly and that transferred the gold glitter into a goldish-green color VERY reminiscent of a mermaid's tail. I loved how it matched the green flakes in Laguna Grande! Once everything was dry, I added Seche Vite to all of my nails and placed the sea shell charms on my index and middle fingers.

What do you think of this mani? Do you like mermaid scale manis?

Chevron glitter placement!

Still chugging along for #nailartsep! I'm so determined to make it to the end so I can make a pretty little collage. 😂

To achieve this look I used KB Shimmer Whole Lava Lovin', OPI 4 In The Morning, and China Glaze Create a Spark for the glitter placement on the middle and ring finger. The sun wasn't my friend that day so you can't see the holo on any of it but it was gorgeous! And glitter placement is beautiful but so time consuming. I don't think I'll be doing it again for awhile!

What do you think of this look?
